Designed by: Gianni and Joe Colombo
Manufactured by: Oluce
Joe Colombo's first project for Oluce – the Acrilica table lamp – is as much sculpture as it is lamp. Colombo employed methacrylate that was formed into a thick curve so that the fluorescent light contained within the painted black metal base traverses the curved form upward and creates the illusion of an illuminated bar. The Acrilica table lamp won the prestigious gold medal at the XIII Triennial in Milan and is included in the permanent collections of several museums worldwide including New York’s Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Manufactured by Oluce.
