Carlo Mollino (1905 - 1973) was born in Turin, Italy and received his degree in architecture in 1931. His career was highly diversified including architecture, design, interior decorating, and town-planning. In addition to this fervid designing, he loved photography, stunt flying, and car racing - he was an expert in all these fields. He even got some ideas and technology from racing that he was able to apply to his designs. His designs from the 1940s and 1950s are icons of Italian design and are now part of the permanent collections of several museums worldwide including The Victoria & Albert Museum, London; Brooklyn Museum of Art, New York; Die Neue Sammlung, Munich; and Fondazione Triennale Design Museum, Milan. Many of Mollino's furniture designs are currently produced by Zanotta.
