Ueli Berger (1937 - 2008) was born in Berne, Switzerland, and was trained as a painter, decorator, and designer. He augmented his education with stays in Copenhagen and Paris. Known for his work as an artist in several media - painting, drawing, sculpture - Berger is also known for his iconic furniture designs for de Sede. Throughout his career, he held a number of academic appointments at various universities and art schools throughout Switzerland.
