Tokujin Yoshioka (born 1967 in Saga, Japan) graduated in 1988 from the Kuwasawa Design School in Tokyo; he subsequently worked with both Shiro Kuramata and Issey Miyake. Founding his own studio in 2000, Yoshioka has worked in the fields of design, architecture, and contemporary art. He has created designs for a number of manufacturers including Desalto, Driade, Glas Italia, Kartell, and Lema. Many of his works are included in the permanent collections of several museums worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Centre Pompidou, Paris; and Victoria & Albert Museum, London. Yoshioka recently designed the Olympic Torch for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
