Founded in 1971, Heller is an American furniture and housewares manufacturer.  Its founder, Alan Heller (1940 - 2021), invited well-known and much-celebrated architects and designers including Mario Bellini, Frank Gehry, as well as Lella and Massimo Vignelli to create designs for the brand.  Examples of Heller's designs are included in the permanent collections of several museums worldwide including Museum of Modern Art, New York; Cooper-Hewitt Museum, New York; Centre Pompidou, Paris; Philadelphia Museum of Art, Philadelphia; Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Brooklyn Museum, New York; Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Vitra Design Museum; Germany; and the British Museum, London.  Heller's ubiquitous, stackable tableware won the prestigious Compasso d'Oro in 1964; its now iconic Bellini dining chair won the Compasso d'Oro in 2001.  Switch Modern is delighted to present an exhibition entitled Heller:  Bold by Designfeaturing an assortment of designs by this American manufacturer over the past 50+ years.  Heller:  Bold by Design is currently on view at Switch Modern's Atlanta showroom through March 21, 2025.
