The Bocci 87s/sp is formed by using soda water to trap air in a super heated glass matrix, which is vertically stretched and folded back onto itself between pegs numerous times. As the glass cools, the folding motion along the grain of the loop turns the entrapped air into microfilaments that give the piece a pearlescent optical quality. A low-voltage LED light source is introduced at one end of the loop casting light through the microfilaments and registering a gentle gradient.
The 87s is a surface mounted light fixture with a 2.2″ diameter mounting plate designed to be mounted on walls. The 87s does not attach directly to a junction box and requires the power supply to be remotely mounted.
The 87sp has a paintable 4.5″ diameter mounting plate designed to be mounted on walls, directly to a standard junction box (not included). The power supply is integrally mounted.
Both versions are UL Listed. Each pendant comes with a 1.5-watt LED lamp and power supplies. Manufactured by Bocci.
