The Bibendum lounge chair is truly one of a kind! Nowhere in the history of design does one find a lounge chair form that even compares to this piece let alone from the time period in which it was first conceived. The sheer impressiveness of its form imparts a profound sensuousness and charm. Eileen Gray underscored the playfulness of her Bibendum design by naming it after the Michelin Man, whose form she thought it resembled. The first version of the chair was developed in the early 1920s as Gray was creating the acclaimed interior of Parisian milliner, Madame Mathieu Lévy. Bibendum features a chrome-plated or black powder-coated tubular steel base; upholstery is available in a wide range of fabric and leather options. Manufactured by ClassiCon.
