Arborescence is a family of suspension, floor, and table lamps. Its name denotes – in both French and English – the growth associated with a tree. This overarching metaphor has been visually translated by designer Herve Langlais into a form where three tubular pieces of solid brass “grow” upward like a tree’s trunk from a cylindrical disc-shaped base splaying outward like branches. Each of these tubular rods cants at an angle away from its stem-like cluster creating a cradle for a cylindrical paper shade. Each of these three “branches” is expressed at a different length – the resulting asymmetry and juxtaposition of materials provides tremendous visual interest. UL listed. The Arborescence table lamp is available with a choice of satin or polished finishes; cylindrical DropPaper shade is also available with a choice of color.
