The Upper floor lamp continues the metaphor of growth that designer Herve Langlais explored with his earlier Arborescence series of lamps for CVL that also feature forms composed of solid tubular brass. Upper’s form features three thick rods that emerge from a disc-shaped base. Organized like columns, each is a different height and visually pierces the large drum-shaped diffuser that encircles them. Upper’s base is slightly elevated from the floor by the addition of integrated underside spheres. This not only creates an unexpected levity within the floor lamp’s overall form but pragmatically provides an elegant “exit solution” for the lamp’s textile cord. Available in several finishes; its cylindrical DropPaper shade is available with a choice of color. UL listed. Manufactured by CVL Luminaires Contract / CVL Lighting.
