Designed by: Pierre Chareau
Manufactured by: Ecart International
As its name suggests in French, Pierre Chareau's table design quite literally resembles a fan. The table's columnar support features a pivoting mechanism that allows the user to splay the surface elements (akin to fan blades) in order to create the usable area desired. Chareau was inspired by Cubism and the "breaking apart" of Eventail's surface by splaying is similar to the "breaking apart" of three-dimensional objects into elements represented in two-dimensional planes. The Eventail table was created as a site-specific piece for the interior that Chareau designed for Maison Verre - a private residence in Paris. Manufactured by Ecart International.
