Designed by: Jean-Michel Frank & Adolphe Chanaux
Manufactured by: Ecart International
The Soleil coffee table has a top and structure covered with straw marquetry - an exquisite aesthetic that underscores Jean-Michel Frank's unique juxtaposition of strongly geometric forms with luxurious materials and atypical finishes - in this instance, it's the designer's masterful manipulation of the radiating orientation of the applied straw that provides such tremendous visual interest and tonal depth to the coffee table's surface. Frank's collaborations with interior designer, Adolphe Chanaux, resulted in important commissions from clients like the Rockefellers and Guerlains. Several examples of these collaborative pieces from from the early 1930s are included in museums collections around the world. In addition to straw marquetry, the Soleil coffee table is also available in oak in a choice of finishes. Manufactured by Ecart International.
