The underlying concept behind the Any Day family of tables and coffee/side tables dwells in the concept of subtraction. The designer intentionally stripped the design of non-essentials, to then focus on "the details, the precise proportions and masterful execution, inherent features that inescapably define the quality of that object". The basic idea was to set a piece of wood on a simple metal structure. The first items to grow out of this concept were a coffee/side table and a console, followed by a dining table, desk and a series of cabinets. The Any Day desk conceals practical invisible drawers while the series of Any Day cabinets comes in an array of configurations that satisfy many practical needs, and can be placed in different rooms in the home - from the entry to the living room and even the bedrooms. All of the pieces are flawlessly finished, even on the back, so they can also be used as room dividers. Manufactured by Flexform.

Christophe Pillet (born 1959 in Montargis, France) graduated in 1985 from the Academy of Decorative Arts, Nice, France, and then completed a post-graduate course in Milan at the Domus Academy. He subsequently worked in Milan with Martine Bedin before moving to Paris, where he worked with Philippe Starck from 1988 to 1993. Over the course of his career, he has designed for a number of top brands, including Cappellini, Driade, Kartell, L'Oreal, Moroso, Shiseido, and Tacchini. His products range from architecture and interior design to home furnishings designs such as chairs and vases. Christophe Pillet makes a point of not limiting himself to a single style, yet rather experiments with a variety of aesthetics. In an interview with Azure Magazine, he said that “In my opinion, it's not important to have a style; it's more important to do things 'with' style. Being too coherent in your work can get a little dry.”
