Overview

The Taylor Collection of cabinets, with their sleek, modern lines and sophisticated construction details, comes in an extensive array of elements and finishes. The lightweight structure is in burnished aluminum while the hinged or sliding doors can be clad in cowhide, or in a choice of wood veneers, in a palette of elegant colors. The top can also be crafted in wood, for seamless continuity with the front, or in marble, to create a delicate contrast. The cabinets are raised just off the floor on burnished metal feet. Taylor cabinets are available in a number of different vertical or horizontal configurations to satisfy various decor needs, multiplying the possibilities of placement in the home - from the entry to the living room and all the way to the bedroom. Carlo Colombo (born 1967 in Carimate, Italy) graduated in 1993 with a degree in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic. Colombo's first pieces were designed for Cappellini - the Archimede bed and Zigo Zago carpet. From the early 1990s forward, Colombo has the recipient of numerous design awards and he has created hundreds of projects in collaboration with several leading manufacturers including Antonio Lupi, Arflex, Artemide, BYografia, Cappellini, DePadova, Emmemobili, EMU, F.lli Guzzini, Flou, Flexform, Franke, Fusital, Giorgetti, iGuzzini, IOC, Paola Lenti, Moroso, Nube, Oluce, Penta, Poliform, Poltrona Frau, Riva 1920, Rugiano, Sabattini, Serralunga, Tecno, Teuco, Varenna, Zanotta. Throughout these collaborations, Colombo's designs are underscored by the designer's masterful manipulation of luxe materials - wood, leather, hide, metal, glass, stone, fabric. The often unexpected juxtapositions of these various materials infuse his resulting forms with a range of engaging, sophisticated aesthetics.
