With her Hug lounge chair for Giorgetti, Pugliatti was clearly inspired by the midcentury work of Ico Parisi - this celebrated Italian designer also expertly manipulated wood within his pieces to create engaging, sinuous sculptural forms. Hug features a luxe seating expanse that envelops the sitter within a beautifully curved, integrated wooden structure - metaphorically, where the upholstered form is "hugged" by the wood. The cradle's slender meandering form provides a sensual juxtaposition to Hug's plump, upholstered seat and back. The Hug lounge chair is constructed with a structure in solid Canaletto walnut. The frame of the seat and the backrest is in profiled steel and the padding is in cold foamed, polymer covered with fiber. Upholstery is available in a wide range of fabric or leather options.
