Designed by: Ingo Maurer
Manufactured by: Ingo Maurer
Knitterling by Ingo Maurer combines the traditional shape of a lampshade with translucent Japanese paper. Due to the low material input, paper and bent metal wires, Knitterling is an extremely sustainable product. The lampshades are handmade in Munich. The shade is slightly crumpled as a deliberate design element. Unlike Knitterling Version I, Version II also has a paper cover at the bottom. In the center is a circular opening. The paper lamp is not suitable for rooms with high humidity. Manufactured by Ingo Mauer.

Ingo Maurer started to design exceptional lamps, lighting systems, and objects beginning in the mid 1960s, which his eponymous company both produces and distributes worldwide. For over 50 years, Ingo Maurer GMBH (originally known as Design M) has been challenging preconceived notions of how a lamp can look and how lighting can function – always availing itself of new illumination technologies and incorporating these into thought-provoking and cutting-edge designs. Ingo Maurer has produced lighting designs that have won countless prestigious awards and are included in the permanent collections of museums around the world.
