Overview

The Aïku Soft dining chair is part of the new collection of chairs designed by Jean-Marie Massaud, both for home and contract spaces. The Aiku shell is padded and completely covered by non-removable fabric or leather. The base is available in numerous finishes. A variety of bases can be selected, some of which are stackable. An optional upholstered seat pad is also available. Manufactured by MDF Italia.

Jean-Marie Massaud

Jean-Marie Massaud (born 1966 in Toulouse, France) graduated in 1990 from Les Ateliers, Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle, Paris. In 2000, he co-founded Studio Massaud with Daniel Pouzet and expanded his interests in the fields of architecture and design. He has collaborated with a number of manufacturers including Arper, Axor, B&B Italia, Cassina, Cappellini, Cacharel, Colombo Design, Dedon, Foscarini, GAN, Gandia Blasco, Glas Italia, Kartell, MDF Italia, Offecct, Poliform, Poltrona Frau, Porro, Steelcase, Tronconi, and Viccarbe. Massaud has been the recipient of numerous design accolades including the prestigious IF and Red Dot awards. His work is now included in the permanent collections of several museums worldwide including the Musée National d'Art Moderne de Paris; Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris; Museum für Gestaltung, Zürich; Chicago Athenaeum - Museum of Architecture and Design; and the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam.
