The basic module of the Do Lo Rez sectional sofa takes inspiration from the pixel, the base unit of an image, and becomes the starting point for Ron Arad's innovative design project. The seating expanse is composed of soft rectangular cubes with a square base in a range of heights give provide freedom in how they are put together, turning their inherent modularity into structure. An infinite number of shapes and compositions are possible, joining the world of industrial design with the art world. The eemingly simple, individual elements are structurally complex and anything but simple to produce. Stiffer at the base, so as to hold a steel pin, the blocks are softer at the top to ensure maximum comfort. Manufactured by Moroso.
