The Fjord lounge chairs is part of a collection that designer Patricia Urquiola developed with Moroso in 2002. As its name suggests, Fjord takes its inspiration from iconic minimalist Scandinavian designs and quite literally to the unexpected negative space in the form of a wedge-like gap (akin to a fjord) in the seat which is rendered as either symmetrical within the stools and chairs or profoundly asymmetrical with the high back lounge version. Noted here is the Fjord high back lounge chair. It features a shell seat with its now iconic asymmetrical "fjord-like gap" in the integrated backrest. Steel pedestal base reinforces Fjord's minimalist aesthetic. Manufactured by Moroso.
