The Tres collection reflects Nanimarquina's passion for craftsmanship and was previously expanded in 2017 and now a new version is being introduced into the family: the new Tres Vegetal model evokes a rustic style thanks to the use of hemp. This hand-spun fiber was chosen due to its biodegradable nature, lightweight yet resistant and, above all, to connect with the passion of the brand for nature. The beauty of this collection, a flat weave created in India, lies in the irregularities generated by the crossing of the fibers and their different thicknesses, but also in the shades of beige, ivory or off-white fibers. The contemporary rug collections by acclaimed designer Nani Marquina are distinct and inspired. From her Nomad collection, woven with ultra-soft Ghazni wool from Afghanistan’s native sheep, to the playful and colorful designs of the Sybilla collection, each piece is thoughtfully crafted to make an artistic statement.

Nanimarquina rugs serve both to enhance existing décor and act as foundational statement pieces. Many of her designs feature intentionally imperfect shapes and lines, as often found in nature, conveying freedom and self-expression. The designer plays with texture to create floor coverings that are as visually captivating as they are tactile.

Nani Marquina

Nani Marquina (born 1952 in Barcelona, Spain) studied industrial design at the Massana School in Barcelona. After a collaboration with Selles-Marquina Architecture Studio, in 1974 she opened her own interior design studio. In the mid 1980s, Marquina starts creating rugs designs; in 1987, this leads to the establishment of her eponymous brand, Nanimarquina. Her first collections quickly garnered attention - New York's Museum of Modern Art store featured her Begonia collection in 1989; her Pera collection from 1990 received a nomination at the Delta Awards. In addition to Marquina's own rug designs, her brand has collaborated with a number of designers over the ensuing decades including Ronan + Erwan Bouroullec, Ron Arad, Javier Mariscal, Milton Glaser, Diego Fortunato, Sybilla, Marti Guixe, Neri & Hu, Christian Zuzunaga, Doshi + Levien, Tjord Boontje, and Jaime Hayon.
