Alba is an engaging and luxe collection of lighting from Italian manufacturer Oluce that was introduced in 2018 and designed by Mariana Pellegrino Soto. The Alba Collection includes several lighting typologies - table, floor, as well as suspension and wall sconce versions.
The Alba Collection features two different suspension light versions. A single droplet diffuser - Alba 465 (left side photo) and the Alba 468 double droplet version (right side photo) where each polished mouth-blown opaline glass diffuser is held in place within a fabulously juxtaposed rectilinear-profile structure.
The designer's concept for Alba was inspired by her observations of the shapes of water drops. Each "diffuser droplet" is composed of polished mouth-blown opaline glass and is oriented differently based upon its specific application as table, floor, suspension, or wall lighting. This beautifully formed organic shape in contrasts markedly with the strong geometry of its rectilinear-profile satin brass support.
The Alba floor lamp is available in two versions - on the left, the Alba 383 features two diffuser droplets - one oriented downward; the other upward. On the right side, the Alba 382 sports a single droplet diffuser that is oriented downward - metaphorically as if it is about to "drip." The square base on either is in anthracite finish.
