The Sonora light is perhaps the purest expression of Vico Magistretti’s lifetime fascination with exploring the form of the hemisphere in his lighting designs. Sonora was designed in the mid 1970s and its minimalist form has tremendous visual presence – indeed, it becomes a “floating volume” within the interior volume of the space in which it is located. Since its introduction, Sonora has been recontextualized in various exterior finishes, the treatment of its interior, and even different materials like glass and PMMA. Noted here is the Sonora suspension light that has been composed of blown PMMA – available in different sizes and applied finishes. UL listed. Manufactured by Oluce.
