With his Chloe Collection for Poliform, Carlo Colombo has expertly manipulated materials in a fabulously asymmetric way to accentuate planes of color. With his Chloe chest of drawers, the designer has created an external aluminum frame clad in saddle leather that wraps around the four seemingly suspended drawers. On the left side of the dresser, this "wrap" becomes a lip that vertically spans the entire form. Colombo has organized the drawers into something that resembles a façade - each of the four drawers varies in both width and height. A tour de force of planes - the resulting color-blocking of the leather is downright engaging; the arrangement of drawer fronts only reinforces the form's overall asymmetrical aesthetic. Structure in black elm with a choice of wood or marble top; several color choices for the saddle leather. Manufactured by Poliform.
