Designed in 1953, the DU30 chair is Gastone Rinaldi's most famous design. A confident and continuous design that produces a perfectly consistent form. In 1954 the DU30 won the prestigious Compasso d'Oro award - the first year the prize was awarded - and also appeared on the cover of Stile e Industria magazine. The cutting and stitching on the internal part of the seat, designed to bring together the various components of the chair, bring to mind the works of Lucio Fontana, which were gaining notoriety in the art world at that time. Poltrona Frau now proposes a faithful reproduction of the DU30 chair upholstered in leather. The range includes variants in Pelle Frau Soul leather, Pelle Frau Nest leather and Pelle Frau leather from the Color System. The leather upholstery on the front of the seat is hand-stitched so it fits the shell like a glove while respecting the clean lines of the DU30. Manufactured by Poltrona Frau.
