The Kyoto table designed by Gianfranco Frattini in 1974 has been faithfully revisited and presented by Poltrona Frau. The inspiration for the table followed the designer's visits to several workshops in Kyoto, Japan. Originally created in the workshop of Italian master carpenter, Pierluigi Ghianda, the Kyoto table's aesthetic simplicity is achieved by the absolute precision of its exacting construction of its dovetail joints and expert manipulation of the solid wood. Over the ensuring decades, Kyoto has become synonymous with the best Italian design tradition that combines a brilliant idea with impeccable execution. This much celebrated design is included in the permanent collection of the Design Museum at the Milan Triennale. Kyoto is Composed of extra light solid beech wood with solid Canaletto walnut inserts at the end of the boards of the top and legs. Kyoto's slide-off counterpoise legs can be positioned as desired. The Poltrona Frau logo and the designer's signature are laser engraved on one of the faces of the leg supports. Available in square and rectangular versions. Manufactured by Poltrona Frau.
