Cover is a system of floor-to-ceiling, single glass hinged doors that essentially form a "wall" to define a wardrobe space within an interior. The supporting structure is fixed to the ceiling and the floor allowing the user to cleverly repurpose open space as concealed space. A plethora of options - shelves, clothes hanger bars, extractable trays, and drawer units – are fixed directly to the uprights to a joint system without visible screws. These elements are available in a number of finishes and materials – illumination through integrated LED. Cover’s layout is easily modified providing tremendous flexibility. Founded in 1956, Italy’s Rimadesio produces systems for subdividing environments and for the architectural definition of internal spaces – doors, sliding panels, shelving units, walk-in wardrobes and a collection of complementary furniture including sideboards, bedroom storage, tables, and bookcases. Rimadesio is known for its expert manipulation of glass and its compositional juxtaposition with other materials to engender new aesthetics.
Giuseppe Bavuso (born 1959 in Italy) is an architect and designer whose work is characterized by a minimalist aesthetic fused with an expertise that intelligently applies technological and innovative materials. His first professional experience saw him working on the planning and design of important projects in a variety of sectors, ranging from architecture to the design and furnishing of large communal spaces, as well as the interior design of trains and sleeping cars. Since 1986, at his own product design company, Bavuso works on projects for firms in the bio-medical equipment field. In the furnishing sector, he collaborates with a number of companies including Alivar, Bauxt, Bross, Fima Carlo Frattini, Poliform, and Rimadesio – often working on products from their inception through planning and design, and finally, on the related visual communication.
