Josep Torres Clavé was a member of the GATCPAC (Grup d'Arquitectes i Tècnics Catalans per al Progrés de l'Arquitectura Contemporània) movement in the 1930s which sought to promote rationalist architecture in Spain, in a similar vein to the style and principles of the German Bauhaus. The GATCPAC lamp is a paradigm of design accuracy, rigor, and clarity that embodies the aesthetic principles of that group: a manifesto for a thorough understanding of function. The lamp is a huge floodlight with an adjustable lampshade on a joint at the top of the shaft. Dimmer included. UL listed. Price includes shopping to the USA. Manufactured by Santa & Cole.
