Tom Dixon's Screw tables are underscored by an industrial aesthetic that reinforces the designer's absolute mastery at mixing materials in unexpected and profoundly engaging ways. The Screw table features a cast iron base expressed as a tripod of trapezoid-shaped "fins" that are wonderfully reminiscent of Jean Prouvé's work in lacquered pressed steel in the mid 20th century. The cast iron base literally houses the thread to enable the table's namesake stainless steel "screw" to function as the columnar support for the top. The juxtaposition of the matte black cast iron with the stainless screw and its associated concentric threads along with the slick polished finish of its stone top is extraordinary. Each Screw table is truly a sculpture and would be a focal point in any space where it is placed. The ability to adjust the height of the table - literally by using its columnar screw support is ingenious. The Screw side table is available with a white marble top. Manufactured by Tom Dixon.
