Tom Dixon started receiving critical acclaim in the mid 1980s for his furniture designs - by the late 1980s, his designs were being produced by Italian manufacturer, Cappellini. In the 1990s, he founded Eurolounge and unveiled his hugely successful iconic Jack “sitting, stacking, lighting thing” in 1997. The following year, he joined Terence Conran’s Habitat, where he remained as its Creative Director for a decade. In 2002, Dixon launched his namesake brand that produces an ever-expanding collection of furniture, lighting, and accessories including now iconic pieces like Mirror Ball, Copper Shade, Wingback Chair, and Beat Light. Dixon’s designs have received numerous awards and are included in the permanent collections of museums worldwide including the Victoria & Albert Museum, London; Museum of Modern Art, New York; and Centre Pompidou, Paris. The designer has also created a number of engaging interiors through the Tom Dixon brand subsidiary, Design Research Studio.
