Tom Dixon's Wing Back lounge chair design provides a contemporary recontextualization of the centuries old wing chair form - here it has been wonderfully rendered with a steeply curved, attenuated back and canted back legs - so much so that the chair almost seems unbalanced in profile. The exaggerated size of the chair's "wings" imbue it with an animated quality that makes it both endearing and welcoming. It features solid wood construction that is expertly upholstered in wide range of fabric options. Chair legs in a choice of solid natural or black oak. Manufactured by Tom Dixon.

Tom Dixon started receiving critical acclaim in the mid 1980s for his furniture designs - by the late 1980s, his designs were being produced by Italian manufacturer, Cappellini. In the 1990s, he founded Eurolounge and unveiled his hugely successful iconic Jack “sitting, stacking, lighting thing” in 1997. The following year, he joined Terence Conran’s Habitat, where he remained as its Creative Director for a decade. In 2002, Dixon launched his namesake brand that produces an ever-expanding collection of furniture, lighting, and accessories including now iconic pieces like Mirror Ball, Copper Shade, Wingback Chair, and Beat Light. Dixon’s designs have received numerous awards and are included in the permanent collections of museums worldwide including the Victoria & Albert Museum, London; Museum of Modern Art, New York; and Centre Pompidou, Paris. The designer has also created a number of engaging interiors through the Tom Dixon brand subsidiary, Design Research Studio.
