Referred to as the Villa Gallia lounge chair after the surname of the family that commissioned Hoffmann in 1913 to design several rooms in their Vienna apartment - Hoffman's interiors included furniture, lighting, wall treatments, and rugs specifically designed for Moriz and Hermine Gallia. Wittmann’s Villa Gallia Collection includes both this lounge chair as well as a two-seat sofa. Available in a wide range of textile or leather upholstery options, the Villa Gallia lounge chair is characterized by its unique piping that outlines the form’s beautiful curves. This piping detail is also offered in some striking braided colorway options. The Villa Gallia lounge chair is an iconic example of Hoffman's work in the 1910s - the spherical form that figured prominently in the designer's work in the first decade of the 20th century now provides "visual punctuation" as base finials for the legs.
