Overview

The non-conformist pop icon lounge chair of the 1960s is back in production! One of the first frameless lounge chairs, made entirely of polyurethane foam, features soft, wave-like surface draws inspiration from the designer's homeland, the Republic of Karelia in Finland. In 2024, new fabric upholstery options in a wide array of colors replace the vinyl of the originals from the 1960s and 1970s. The individual elements can be used as lounge chairs or combined to create sectional sofas of varying widths. Manufactured by Zanotta.

Liisi Beckmann

Liisi Beckmannn (1924 - 2004) was born in Finland and attended the Institute of industrial Art in Helsinki where she was a pupil of both Tapio Wirkkala and Ilmari Tapiovaara). She also studied graphic art in Germany and took drawing courses at the Brera Academy in Milan. She participated in countless collective exhibitions throughout her career and her design objects have been displayed at the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
