Born in Bussi sul Tirino (Pescara) in 1938, he lives and works in Milan, where in 1964 he graduated in Architecture at the Polytechnic. Trained architect, artist, filmmaker, editor, musician, cartoonist, teacher, since 1960 he has defined himself as a researcher in the system of communication and visual arts, moving simultaneously in the territories of art and design. Tireless experimenter, he has crossed different currents (from Sign Painting to conceptual art, from Narrative Art to artist cinema) and used multiple mediums, conducting research that have materialized in the theory of the " Sistema disequilibrante" (unbalanced system) - autonomous expression within Radical Design. Since 1964 he has taught at the Faculty of Architecture of Milan, Pescara, Palermo, Turin, Venice, Milan; at the Politecnico di Milano, Scuola del Design; at the Istituto d'Arte of Monza; at the ISIA of Faenza; at the Istituto Europeo di Design of Milan; at NABA in Milan; at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan; from 2000 to 2005 he directed the Department "Artistic Design for Business", which he founded, at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, Milan. Since 2009 he has been a lecturer at the Politecnico di Milano, Scuola del Design and NABA in Milan. He holds seminars and workshops in numerous universities and academies in Italy and abroad. He communicated his work through many exhibitions in Italy and abroad, and in several exhibitions at the Triennale di Milano, Biennale di Venezia, Museo d'Arte Contemporanea di Lione, Museo FRAC di Orléans, Museo delle Ceramiche di Faenza, Fondazione Ragghianti di Lucca, Mudima Foundation of Milan, MA*GA Museum of Gallarate. He has always critically supported the humanistic, significant and territorial component of art and design with works and objects, with theoretical, didactic and editorial activity. He has been working with Zanotta since 1982.
