Tord Boontje
Tord Boontje (born 1968 in Enschede, Netherlands) graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 1991 and earned a master's degree from the Royal College of Art (RCA) in London in 1994.  After graduation, he founded his eponymous design company, Studio Tord Boontje.  Boontje is known for his expression of romanticism in contemporary design - his designs are often whimsical and light-hearted yet, simultaneously, they can evoke strong emotions.  Originally from the Netherlands, Boontje's education at the Eindhoven Design Academy and the Royal College of Art in London set the foundations for Studio Tord Boontje.  Established in 1996, the studio has worked with international companies on a range of products that includes lighting, graphic identity, textiles, ceramics, site-specific installations, and furniture.  Boontje's designs can be found in major museum collections such as the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, and Museum of Moden Art, New York.
