This sofa's uncomplicated shapes conspire to reclaim light-hearted sociability while its open lines facilitate conversation. Taking inspiration from the Far East - a recurring theme in the Cassina collections and often expressed in the work of Charlotte Perriand - the Sengu Sofa features different, unconventional arrangements, bound by shared features like natural materials and colors, enhanced by a series of new modules, corner and end elements, and by an ottoman available with or without low table. The structure is a steel frame with webbing, elegantly finished with two wood beams that evoke the Japanese influence. The ergonomics of the sofa seat are enhanced by a soft fold along the backrests and armrests and external quilting. This detail is also repeated on the backrest cushions that complete the sofa. The cushion padding is made from 100% recycled fiber, obtained from PET and mostly recovered from the oceans, thanks to a study conducted by Cassina LAB, a partnership between the Cassina Research and Development Center and the Poli.design consortium of the Politecnico university in Milan.
